European ATM Research Alliance
The German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the Royal Netherlands Aerospace Centre (NLR) are two of the largest aerospace research and development organizations in Europe. Together they form the research alliance AT-One.
DLR and NLR deliver innovative and independent Air Traffic Management research and implementation support with a focus on integrated simulation, verification and validation.
DLR and NLR have been actively participating in all phases of the Single European Sky ATM Research Programme (SESAR) research programme. In SESAR 1 they were participating via subcontracts and as associated Partners. In SESAR 2020 DLR and NLR joined the programme as AT-One consortium. In SESAR 3 DLR and NLR joint SESAR individually as founding members of the SESAR 3 joining forces as AT-One alliance. The alliance operates from Amsterdam, Braunschweig and Brussels.
About DLR
DLR is the Federal Republic of Germany’s research centre for aeronautics and space. We conduct research and development activities in the fields of aeronautics, space, energy, transport, security and digitalisation. The German Space Agency at DLR plans and implements the national space programme on behalf of the federal government. Two DLR project management agencies oversee funding programmes and support knowledge transfer.

About NLR
The Royal Netherlands Aerospace Centre (NLR) overall mission is making air operations and space exploration safer, more sustainable and more efficient. NLR’s multidisciplinary approach focuses on developing new and cost effective technologies for aviation and space, from design support to production technology and MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul). With its unique expertise and state of the art facilities NLR is bridging the gap between research and application.
NLR covers the whole RDT&E (Research, Development, Test & Evaluation) range, including all the essential phases in research, from validation, verification and qualification to evaluation. By doing so, NLR contributes to the innovative and competitive strength of government and industry, in the Netherlands and abroad.
NLR employs a staff of approx. 650 at our offices in Amsterdam and Marknesse. The company realizes an annual turnover of approx. 88 million euro.
